Results and visibility

Understand who can see results, when results appear, and how to filter result windows.

Results page highlights

The result page provides:

  • Position-by-position breakdown
  • Method-aware candidate tallies and percentages
  • Turnout and participation statistics
  • Expected vs received vote-entry metrics

Plurality positions show Votes, approval positions show Approvals, score positions show Total score, and cumulative positions show Allocated points. When weighted voting is enabled, results also show the corresponding weighted tally and calculate ranking and percentages from that effective weighted value.

A tally is not always the same as a count of vote records: a score or cumulative entry can contribute multiple points. For weighted tallies, Pepvote multiplies the raw value by the normalized stored voter weight.

Result visibility controls

Result visibility is controlled by role and settings.

Live Result setting

Allows candidates and voters to view results while voting event is ongoing.

Publish Result setting

Allows results to stay viewable after voting event ends.

Role behavior

  • Owners, voting event managers, and observers can view dashboard results based on their access level.
  • Candidates and voters depend on Live Result while voting is ongoing.
  • After the voting event ends, broader public and participant result access depends on Publish Result.
  • The votes table is separate from the result view and is mainly for audit/review workflows.

Time-range filtering

On plans that support result filtering, results can be filtered by date/time window to inspect voting activity over specific periods.

This is useful for:

  • Tracking turnout phases
  • Comparing voting windows
  • Reviewing anomalies
