Pepvote Changelog

Changelog

What we have shipped, in the order it shipped. New ways to vote, sharper results, and the small fixes that make an election day quieter.

Improved

Accept one poll vote per emailLink to this update

Polls that save voter info now ask every voter for an email, and each email votes once.

With Save Voter Info During Voting on, your poll asks each voter for a name and an email before the ballot, and each email can vote once. A voter who opens the poll in a second browser cannot vote again with the same email.

This works alongside the one-ballot-per-browser rule and the network limits in public voting.

Improved

Manage your officials from one pageLink to this update

Invite, find, revoke, and remove Managers, Polling Officers, and Observers in one table.

On a big election day you may have polling officers at every centre and observers from each side. They now have a page of their own: open Officials in the sidebar.

Paste a whole list of email addresses into Invite Officials, separated by commas or new lines, and give the batch one role. The table then lets you search by email, filter by role or status, and select many rows to Revoke or Delete them in one go.

Only you and your Managers can see the Officials page. The Support Center walks through each role.

Improved

Control and manage combined resultsLink to this update

Show all candidates or a top selection, then edit or delete saved results.

With Merge Results, you can show every candidate in a combined result or choose Show Top N for a shorter view. That choice stays in the result link and applies to its PDF too.

Your saved combined results also have actions to edit their source events or delete a result you do not need.

Improved

Inspect a scanned paper ballot while you countLink to this update

Open the scanned sheet and its recorded votes from the counting views.

When a marked paper ballot needs a closer look, open its scanned image from the scan session or the ballot row. The recording view shows the sheet beside the votes you are entering, and you can open the recorded votes from the image.

The camera gives clearer framing hints and can read sheets from farther away.

Improved

Jump to a position on a long ballotLink to this update

Find the position you need without working through every earlier one.

When your ballot has ten or more positions, a Jump to position menu appears above the first one. Members can choose a position directly instead of searching through the full ballot. On a step-by-step ballot, the menu opens that step; on a single-page ballot, it scrolls to the position.

The same menu appears in the ballot previews, so you can check a long ballot before voting opens.

Improved

Set your own wording through the APILink to this update

Create or update an event with your words for positions, voters, and credits.

Call a position a role, a voter a delegate, or a credit a token without opening the dashboard. Creating or updating a voting event now takes an aliases object, keyed exactly the way the API already reports them, so whatever you read back is what you can send.

Each value runs from 1 to 60 characters. On an update, send null for an alias to put the default word back.

The voting events reference lists every alias you can set.

Improved

Find any action in your event by nameLink to this update

Search reaches more of the event and puts the closest match first.

Open the search button in your event, type what you want, and the action you meant comes first. Typing "start" now puts Getting started at the top instead of Start Now.

Seventeen actions joined it. Jump to Getting started, Insights, Pricing, Payments, Settings, your events list, or Merge Results. Download the result PDF. Copy the voting link or the event code, preview the public pages, or open the support center, all without leaving the page you are on.

Improved

See what your API key has been doingLink to this update

Recent requests sit under your keys, with filters and the detail of each call.

Pick a key on the API keys page and the API requests card below shows its last 100 calls, kept for 30 days.

Filter by status or method, search for a path or event code, and open a row for the full detail of that request. The Edit button on the card opens the settings for the key you are looking at, so the log and the key sit in one place.

The API overview covers the rest of what a key can do.

Improved

Start from an event you already ranLink to this update

Bring positions, candidates, voters, and sponsors across from up to 10 past voting events.

Running the same vote again? Import from Previous Event takes up to ten source events at once, and you pick per event what comes across: groups, positions, candidates, voters, and sponsors.

Polls import from polls and elections from elections. Sponsors arrive with their logos. Voters belong to elections, and you can narrow them to the people who actually voted last time. Source events can be ones you created or ones you manage for somebody else.

Available on Pepvote Starter and For Organizations.

Improved

Move around your event fasterLink to this update

One sidebar for everything, with an event switcher at the top.

Everything in a voting event now sits in one sidebar you can take in at a glance.

Switch between events from the top without going back to a list, and watch for the dot that appears when registrations are waiting on your review. Getting started and Demos have pages of their own, and templates open from the sidebar wherever you are.

NewImproved

Sharper results and easier paymentsLink to this update

Ranked results read more clearly, and the payments table does more.

  • Follow a ranked count round by round. Results open with a grid covering every round, then a table showing where each transferred vote went, exhausted ballots included. The PDF matches what you see.
  • Get more out of the payments table. Copy a row, export exactly the rows your filters show, and see your share on every line.
  • Price quadratic credits on their own tab, with models to choose from and per-position prices edited in place.
  • Thank sponsors on an election, not just a poll.
  • See what a higher plan unlocks. Anything your plan does not cover now shows you the way in rather than disappearing.
  • Check that we are up from inside the app, linked to status.pepvote.com.

Start from a template, then shape the resultLink to this update

Guided setup for common events, and more say over how results look.

Pick the kind of event you are running and a short guided form sets up the positions and settings that usually go with it. No blank page.

Results are yours to shape too. Choose how many candidates to show and both the page and the PDF respect it. PDFs are tighter to read, combined and single results look the same, and a new figure shows how much of the ballot your members actually completed. Merging results no longer insists every event in the combination is the same type.
